The Fanatics Affiliate Program  is proud to present another BCS Championships “Squares” football pool game to benefit Affiliate Marketers Give Back and their participation in the Avon Walk for the Cure – NYC Edition in 2012.

If you aren’t familiar with “Squares,”  it’s a fun party game that requires no knowledge of football, just a little luck. Here’s how it works:

The  organizer draws up a 10-by-10 grid. The grid’s length is designated for one team and the width for the other. For a price, players choose “squares” within the grid.

After the squares are filled, a number between zero and 9 is assigned to each row and column, giving each square holder a number for each team. If the number in the player’s square match the last digit in the score at the end of each quarter, that player wins.

For example, a player could draw the 7-3 square, 7 for the LSU Tigers and 3 for the Alabama Crimson Tide. If, at the end of the first quarter, the Tigers were ahead 17-3 the 7-3 square would be a winner. Smaller prizes are usually awarded to the winners of each quarter and a grand prize goes to the person whose square reflects the game’s final score.

Once you have signed up for the squares you’d like to purchase, visit http://fanaticsaffiliates.com/amgb and make your donation in the name of one of the AMGB Team Walkers, then forward me the receipt and I’ll validate your picks. Cost is $25 per square with a limit of 3 squares per player. 100% of your donations will go to the Avon Breast Cancer Walk and you will receive a receipt from the charity.

Fanatics will be kicking in $500 in Fanatics Gift Cards for the players who have the winning squares at the end of the 1st quarter ($100), at half time ($100), at the end of the 3rd quarter ($100) and the final score ($200.)

The BCS Championship Game pitting the LSU Tigers against the Alabama Crimson Tide will be played on Monday night at Affiliate Summit starting at 5:30 PT. Once all squares are filled, numbers for the squares will be assigned at random and you will be notified by email of your selections. Winners will be notified by email the night of the game as well.

Affiliate Summit West 2012 Raises $5,000 to Fight Breast Cancer

The Race to Affiliate Summit West 2012, a dailymile challenge where Affiliate Summit pledged to donate $1 to benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in support of Affiliate Marketers Give Back team for each mile cycled, run, swam, or walked (up to $5,000) through the challenge, has ended.

There were 49 folks involved in the challenge, and Affiliate Summit has made the $5,000 donation to benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

Here were the top ten fundraising affiliate marketing athletes at the conclusion of the challenge.

Congratulations to Jared Saunders, who had the most total miles at the end of the challenge with 346. He will receive a Platinum pass to Affiliate Summit.

Affiliate Summit West 2012 is taking place January 8-10, 2012 at Caesars Palace Las Vegas.

Affiliate Summit West 2012 Has Raised $2,018 So Far to Fight Breast Cancer

The Race to Affiliate Summit West 2012, a dailymile challenge where Affiliate Summit will donate $1 to benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in support of Affiliate Marketers Give Back team for each mile cycled, run, swam, or walked (up to $5,000) through the challenge, is running through 12/31/2011.

There are currently 45 folks involved in the challenge, and the top ten competitors have already tallied 1,276 miles.

Overall, there have been 2,018 miles by all of the participants, so it’s $2,018 raised so far.

I am at #5 right now (see my dailymile profile) with 125 miles – two spots up from last week. Come on, slackers!

You can also manually enter your cycling, swimming, running, and walking efforts.

Affiliate Summit West 2012 is taking place January 8-10, 2012 in Las Vegas.

2012 Affiliate Marketers Give Back Walk to #SaveTheBoobies Announced

Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back Gears Up for its 6th Annual Walk in New York City.   Walkers and Non-Walkers Welcome!

In 2007, I founded AffiliateMarketersGiveBack.com (“AMGB”) with two goals in mind — to raise money to support Breast Cancer research, treatment, awareness and community programs through combined efforts within the Affiliate Marketing Industry and also provide an outlet for people to help themselves by uplifting others in ways that another piña colada-filled vacation or more “stuff” couldn’t possibly begin to do.

Since then we have raised over $325,000.00 to help #SaveTheBoobies.

Taking a bite out of the Big Apple!

In October 20-21, 2012, Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back will take on a 39.3 mile walking tour around the City that Never Sleeps for the 10th Anniversary of the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer.

It’s the perfect time of year to take in the best that New York has to offer as we’ll be walking through some of the most well-known neighborhoods including Chelsea, Greenwich Village, SOHO, Chinatown, Lower East Side and the Upper East Side.

We are IN IT for a Purpose

Our team will walk a total of 1-1/2 Marathons (26.2 miles on Saturday, and 13.1 miles on Sunday) so that women and men can get the medical care they need regardless of their ability to pay,and leading research teams can receive vital support in their ongoing search for a cure.

Walkers and Non-Walkers Can Participate

This time around the great folks at the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer will be providing a Cheering Station for our team to manage on the Sunday of our walk. We will be assigned a set locale for our team to cheer on and motivate the walkers as they pass our station. [For those of us that have participated in these walks, we know how much we appreciate the applause, high-fives and motivational words as we struggle through those miles!]

So whether you want to walk all 39.3 miles with the Team, walk part of it or simply participate in the cheering station on Sunday, October 21st, we welcome love for you to join our team.

It’s important to note that each participant is required to raise $1,800 in order to take part in the Avon Walk.  But, Affiliate Summit is going to help you out there.

When you join the Affiliate Marketers Give Back Team, Affiliate Summit will match your fundraising up to $500, in order to get you started.  Of course, if you can raise more than the $1,800 everyone benefits.

In addition, any team member that raises $2,300 or more, will receive a Platinum Pass to Affiliate Summit West 2013 [a $1,249 value; location and dates to be announced]!

As an affiliate marketer, I see the need of our growing internet marketing industry, and I also see the growing need of a cure for breast cancer.

We may never know what causes abnormal cells but we can take a stand and do our best to live healthy and give back to research.

Francis’s Story

Francis Torres Devito
September 1954 to March 2001

Growing up Francis was a straight A student in Lexington School for the deaf in
Queens, NY. After graduating , getting married and having her son Steven Roy,Francis moved down to Florida. A few years later Francis was diagnosed with breast cancer let us know about it when she had to go to the hospital because she couldn't take the pain. The doctors told her that her cancer had metastasized also telling her she had only 6 mo. to live. Francis under went chemo and radiation and what was available at that time to try to overcome the cancer battle. Francis fought and was able to live 4 more years than what was diagnosed.

Anna Scroggins, " My cousin Francis and I were very close (tears) Francis had a
big heart and the sweetest disposition. Very kind, caring and had a lot of strength to go through what she went through and lived life to the very end."

Yvonne Matos, "One of the things about Francis, is she had a zest for life. The fact that she was deaf didn't stop her from being a model and going out dancing. No one ever thought she was deaf, but because she was able to feel the beat she would dance the night away!"

Priscilla Nunez, " Strong memories of Francis is even though she went through different types of chemo she would attend company events which involved music and dancing with me on an annual basis. I brought Francis with me in replacement of a date and we always had a blast. By the end of the night Francis would have at least two phone numbers given to her because she wouldn't give out hers to a man when he asked. Very hard to get (winks). Though Francis and I are second cousins because of our tight knit family our cousins grow up as brothers and sisters. I remember the night before Francis past she was in the hospital and I brought two of her favorite things: She LOVED the Sunflower, and she (as directed) was told to eat dried apricots (she learned to love the dried fruit). At the hospital Francis told me she felt her time was up and for me to know that she will be my guardian angel. The next evening Francis was in her home in pain with Hospice and she would not go to bed with out saying good night and I love you to her son Steven Roy. After being able to do so Francis was noticed a short time later with her hand in the " I love you" sign language position in peace. God granted her last request before silently taking her with him. Now, every time I see a Sunflower I am reminded of Francis's beauty, strength, individuality, love and hope to seek a cure for cancer."
