Letters to Friends and Family

Over the weekend I sent out letters to friends and family letting them know I am participating in the walk and that I would love their support. So far I’ve had a handful of people respond and have raised $635.00!

I set up  a special site that I can share thank yous, post donor links and so I can share blogging notes to the penguin fans, my friends and family.  I also set up a guestbook so that those that can’t donate right now can leave a little note to share their support.  Every bit of encouragement is one more reason to get my hiney out on that treadmill.

I’m thrilled to share this experience with everyone I know. I am SO excited to be involved and so very thankful for everyone’s support!

Give Back and Save

Team Affiliate Marketers Worldwide will be taking to the streets with our “feets” during the 2008 Seattle, Breast Cancer 3-day. It’s a 60-mile walk over the course of three days that raises funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

Last year, I had an incredible experience participating in this event. Team Affiliate Markers Worldwide raised $17,000. This year, we’re looking to double that.

There are a number of fundraising promotions going on including the sales of “Affiliate Marketers Give Back” clothing, a T-shirt sponsorship, etc., which you can read about on www.AffiliateMarketersGiveBack.com

On behalf of Affiliate Summit, I am now announcing the “Give Back and Save” fundraising promotion.

Now through July 31, 2008, when you make a $50, $100, $250 or $500 donation in support of the walk, you will receive a discount coupon in that same amount, valid off your registration at Affiliate Summit 2008 East in Boston.

The discounts are valid on either an exhibit hall or full conference pass.

Robert Drumm Gives Back!

Last week on ABestWeb, there was a contest held in which ABW Members could guess what the 500th sub-forum would be. There was $500 bucks up for grab to the member who came up with the right answer.

Robert Drumm, Affiliate Manager for ACLens.com came up with the correct answer and subsquently donated his winnings to our fundraising efforts.

Selling mini buttons for donations

There’s a little funky art shop in downtown Littleton, Colorado. I’ve been a contributing artist at this shop for a few years now… so this week I went and spoke to the owner about helping raise donations for our BCA walk team. She agreed! I’m so delighted she said yes, without the slightest hesitation!

So, together, we will be selling pink ribbon penguin mini buttons at Willow with the proceeds going directly to the Affiliates Marketers Worldwide team. Unfortunately Willow doesn’t have a website for you to purchase these buttons from.. but if you’re in Littleton, stop by and tell them Jen sent you!
