• The Affiliate Summit West 2013 Charity Poker Tournament was held on Saturday, January 12^th in the Caesars Palace Poker Room.  The tournament was a no limit Texas Hold’em style game. Todd Gellar took home the Grand Prize of an All Access Pass to Affiliate Summit East 2013 PLUS 3 nights stay at the official conference hotel during Affiliate Summit East 2013 (Prize valued at $2,849). Overall the event raised $7,000.00.

• The Las Vegas Classic Basketball Tournament was presented by RevenueAds and held on Sunday, January 13^th at Impact Basketball. It was fun to watch top affiliate marketing companies compete in the first ever 3-on-3 basketball tournament held in conjunction with Affiliate Summit West. Overall the event raised $1,000.00
• The Race to Affiliate Summit West 2013, an exercise challenge where Affiliate Summit committed to donating $1 to benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in support of Affiliate Marketers Give Back team for each mile in the challenge, raised $10,044. Participants cycled, run, swam, and walked to add up miles for the charity competition. There were 61 folks involved in the challenge, and the top ten competitors accumulated 7,337 miles. Overall, there were 10,044 miles tallied by all of the participants.
• Jeremy Schoemaker’s did a book signing for his new book, “Nothing’s Changed But My Change” at MaxBounty’s Booth in the exhibit hall raised $700 for the Affiliate Marketers Give Back team.

• Strike Out Breast Cancer at Affiliate Summit West 2013 was held on Monday, January 14^th at Goldcoast Lanes, Las Vegas. BowlingShirt.com, GTO Management, TFAW and Affiliate Marketers Give Back joined together for some bowling fun to raise money for Breast Cancer research at Affiliate Summit. The event raised $265.00.

Affiliate Summit West 2013 Charity Poker Tournament Info

• When: Saturday, January 12, 2013 • 9pm
• Where: Caesar’s Palace Poker Room, Las Vegas
• Event Registration Fee: $150
• Tournament Style: No limit Texas Hold’em. Play will start with 10 tables of 12 players each. The final table will be eligible for the Grand Prize. The starting chips and number of rebuys allowed, will be determined on the day of the tournament and contingent on Caesar’s Palace rules. Game details are subject to change.
• Prizes: We will have prizes for all participants as well as special prizes for those lucky twelve people who make the final table (Prizes are being added daily. See abbreviated list below).
• Seating Limited: Seats are limited and we do expect to sell out. Reserve yours today!

(100% of the event registration’s $150 cost goes to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. This registration covers the initial buy-in to the poker tournament. 100% of all re-buys during the tournament will also go to the Avon Foundation Walk for Breast Cancer.)

Last time this event was held, $14,000 was raised for breast cancer. This year, with your help, we intend to surpass that!

Our team raised $86,688.36 and a total of $8.3 million was raised for this walk to advance access to care and find a cure for breast cancer.

The Avon Walk New York, the eighth of nine Avon Walks this year, attracted more than 3,400 participants from 46 states and Washington DC, as well as eight countries, and drew 429 men and 401 breast cancer survivors to raise life-saving funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Here is a list of grants that were awarded during closing ceremonies. It was so exciting to see all of our fundraising being disbursed right in front of us!

We were also thrilled to find out that Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back was the 2nd largest fundraising team during this walk and both myself and Shawn Collins were in the top 10 of individual fundraisers.

We had an amazing, yet grueling time on the walk and a ton of fun at our team Cheering Station on Columbus Circle. Being able to put a smile on the face of the walkers as they forged on through the last few miles was an incredibly uplifting experience.

I can tell you first hand that nothing motivates an Avon Walker more than seeing all of the folks that come out to show their support by cheering us on along the way. Clad in their Pink flair, with their motivational posters and music, etc.; their energy and excitement make us smile and laugh and gives us the encouragement we need to keep on going.

I was so excited when I found out that Avon Walk for Breast Cancer was giving Affiliate Marketers Give Back a Cheering Station of their own this year, providing an opportunity for our team to not only participate in the walk, but also allow us to cheer on our fellow walkers for a portion of the second day of the walk.

We’ll be the applauding and high-fiving the Avon Walkers as they pass by dressed in our team shirts, rocking our pom-poms and noise makers and handing out thousands of fruit-flavored Pink Ribbon candy and Heart-shaped seeded paper pins.

The Avon Walkers can plant the heart and grow pretty wild flowers when they get back home to remind them of their time during the walk.

Founder of Affiliate Marketers Give Back

This week a group of inspiring affiliate marketers based in Vancouver got together to help their local community through generous donations of clothes, toys, food, books, baby gear and bedding to those in need.

In all, the group of 12 affiliate marketers collected, sorted, counted and donated over 650 items for those living below the poverty line.

“We did this because we wanted to give back to our community while building stronger relationships with each other and the affiliate marketing community. We’d love to see this happen in other cities and help bring a better name to the affiliate marketing industry as a whole.” says group organizer Sarah Bundy.  ”It just goes to show that a small group of committed people really can make a difference when they care.”

The team of Vancouver affiliate marketers who gathered for this event included Sarah and Iain Bundy of All Inclusive Marketing, James and Arlene Martell (Affiliates), Leanne and Peter Tremblay (Affiliates), Jaxon Lam (Affiliate Manager of Hootsuite) and Greg White and Ray Wang of All Inclusive Marketing. Those not in the picture who also contributed donations were Silver Anderson (Food Blogger) and Frank and Margarette Ravanelli (All Inclusive Marketing).

The group ordered Affiliate Marketers Give Back t-shirts to have a more unified look that helped give a better name to the industry while also helping in our Breast Cancer fundraising efforts.

We’d love to see more events like this happen throughout our community and thank the Vancouver Affiliate Marketers Give Back team for being the first to lead the way.
